Familia Microsoft Office - 1 - istoric si continut pachete

O confuzie cu mult mai mare decat cea cauzata de multimea versiunilor de Microsoft Windows, este aceea cauzata de multimea versiunilor de Microsoft Office. Am vazut oameni pe care nervii i-au lasat din cauza acestor versiuni si a intrebarii existentiale "CARE Office cu CARE Windows merge?????". Multa lume crede ca versiunile de Office au fost botezate in pereche cu versiunile de Windows, ceea ce nu-i adevarat, si multa lume nu stie "care cu care Windows si Office mai merg"....
Asadar in continuare vom clarifica numele versiunilor de Microsoft Office, continutul pachetelor (macar in linii mari) si ce Office cu ce Windows merge - asta in postarea numarul 2 pe aceasta tema:

ISTORICUL versiunilor de Microsoft Office, in ordine cronologica de la vechi la nou:
MS Office 1.5 (undeva anul 1990) --> MS Office 1.6 --> MS Office 3.0 --> MS Office 4.0 (anul 1994, cuprinde celebra versiune Word 6.0) --> MS Office 4.2 for Windows NT --> MS Office 4.3 --> MS Office 95 (anul 1995) --> MS Office 97 --> MS Office 2000 --> MS Office XP --> MS Office 2003 --> MS Office 2007 --> MS Office 2010.
De la Office XP incoace, au inceput cu timpul sa existe si sub-diviziunile Basic, Educational (Student, Teacher), Standard, Starter, Small Business, Professional, Premium..... De ajuns sa te apuce durerea de cap, sa nu mai stii ce sa iei... Pe Wikipedia am gasit niste tabele destul de edificatoare:
